We ended the year with a bit of fun taking a stupendous Range Rover Autobiography to the Peak District for a comparison with a rare Classic model. What a machine the Range Rover is now, though I have to admit that I do find the huge array of switches, dials, touch screen displays and audible warnings all a bit daunting – but I suppose you could get used to it.
It’s all a far cry from the original concept in 1948, but really only an evolutionary step along the way for the vehicle launched in 1970.
>> After more than eleven years of publication by an independent publisher, LRM has joined Dennis Publishing Ltd. We are teaming up with their other illustrious motoring brands which include Auto Express, Octane, evo and iMotor.
In its eleven years, LRM has grown steadily to a position of great strength in the Land Rover market. This new development is very exciting for us and means that we can continue to develop LRM’s potential still further under Dennis Publishing’s umbrella.

Dennis Publishing’s Chief Executive Officer, James Tye, says: “Land Rover Monthly is exactly the kind of brand Dennis likes to publish. It is a superbly crafted editorial product which supports and enhances a vibrant community of Land Rover owners”.
>> Looking forward to the next decade, there are some encouraging signs for Land Rover. It seems their revised Discovery, Sport and Range Rover models hit the showrooms at just the right time.
Financial crisis or not, there are still plenty of would-be customers with money to spend and in today’s climate they can afford to be choosy. Land Rover’s new and, it has to be said, very much improved line up now offers some exceptionally classy vehicles with just the right amount of status and luxury.
Good news for Solihull. |
